Jon Bon Jovi Stars at Bob Kraft’s Surprise 75th Birthday Party

Surprising Robert Kraft, a man who’s used to running the show, can’t be an easy task, but the business magnate’s sons Jonathan, Daniel, and Josh managed to pull it off over the weekend.
The trio threw their father a surprise 75th birthday party Saturday night, bringing him — under the ruse that they were taking a trip — to Hanscom Field, where 150-some guests were waiting in a decked-out airplane hangar. It’s safe to say Kraft was truly flabbergasted (he showed up in jeans and a T-shirt, clearly not planning on being the guest of honor at the birthday soirée) and word is that he was momentarily speechless.
Jon Bon Jovi and Bob Kraft spoke on the sidelines during a game at Gillette Stadium. Bon Jovi played for more than two hours at Kraft’s surprise birthday party Saturday. The night began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before comedian Tracy Morgan took the stage — and promptly left. Morgan’s jokes, which included some not-so-funny jabs at Tom Brady, who was among the guests, didn’t go over too well with the crowd; he got few laughs and walked off the stage barely 10 minutes into his set. Kraft, ever the gracious host, brought Morgan back on stage and apologized for the crowd’s lackluster response.
Dinner (catered by Holly Safford of The Catered Affair) and a movie, full of captured moments of Kraft and his sons over the years, followed before Jon Bon Jovi came out and really got the party started. Bon Jovi played for more than two hours, churning out his classic hits, but also playing tunes by Sly and the Family StoneStevie Wonder, and Don McLean (“American Pie” is reportedly one of Kraft’s favorite songs).
Along with Brady, Patriots past and present — Julian Edelman, Ty LawAndre Tippett, andScott Zolak among them — showed up to celebrate the Pats owners’ birthday, as did coach Bill Belichick. The guest list also included Celtics co-owners Wyc Grousbeck, Steve Pagliuca, andPaul Edgerley; journalist Charlie Rose; restaurateur Steve DiFillippo, owner of Davio’s; and titans of the financial, business, and media worlds such as Peter LynchJohn Henry and Linda Pizzuti HenryShari RedstoneHoward Kessler, and David Long.

I am and always have been a Bon Jovi fan. This blog is just my obsession taken a step further, my imagination in high gear if you will. I love to read and decided to see what would happen when I took that love of the written word and ramped it up a bit.
