Remembering...

I am sure that blogs across the web will have remembrances today and here I am adding my own.
It was the worst tragedy ever to happen on American soil. We are a nation forever changed because of it. We went to and are still at war. Too many lives have been and will be lost before this war is over. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news of that fateful day. Like many others, I was glued to the television. Then, I prayed. Even now when I think about what happened or if I happen to see pictures from that day, my heart gets heavy and I end up with tears in my eyes.
My son was four when the attacks happened. He doesn't remember and I can't forget. He will hear about it in history class I'm sure. There will be memorials and moments of silence for those who lost their lives. Prayers will be said. It will ease the ache a little, but I will never forget.
While I did not lose anyone on that tragic day, I was profoundly affected. That someone could have such callous indifference to human life I will never understand. More than 3000 souls were lost that day between New York, Pennsylvania and Washington. And for what?
I start this day, as I have everyday for the last 8 years, with a prayer for all who gave their lives and who still give their lives everyday.
A new friend has a memorial on her blog. She put together a video that brought me to tears. If you have a few minutes, click here and check it out. Read what she has to say and watch the video at the bottom.
I will never forget. And I thank all of you that are out there protecting my life and the lives of others.

I just walked to work ... down Wall Street ... in the shadow of the WTC site. It is eerily quiet today both on the street and in our offices. Obviously, working in the financial services arena, we have all lost friends and colleagues on September 11th. It hasn't gotten any easier with the passage of time ...
The information here is great. I will invite my friends here.
Thanks
