And the Championship Goes to...
Thursday, November 5, 2009
So, once again, this post is a shout out to/for the Hub. Can you guess who won the World Series last night?
The Yankees won their 27th World Series Championship last night/early this morning. It was an exciting game. Veteran Andy Pettitte pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing only one earned run.
Designated Hitter Hideki Matsui was a force to be reckoned with, racking up 6 RBIs for the night. He took home the MVP trophy too.
Just an amazing run for these New York Yankees this year. 103 regular season wins, an incredible post-season record and now, World Series Champions in their new house. Could it be any sweeter?
For these four men (from the left, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera) who came up through the ranks together, probably not. Each now will have five World Series Rings. Pretty impressive if you ask me.
Will they make it back next year? Who can know at this point. I am sure there will be some roster changes, Johnny Damon and Hideki Matsui's contracts are up, so there could be a whole new dynamic next season. We'll just have to wait and see.
For now, let's enjoy the win and watch the parade.
BigAppleJoviGirl, the parade is Friday, are you going to be there?
And to my friend cattesambora, maybe your Phillies will do better next year? Sorry girlfriend, but I knew the Yankees wouldn't lose in their new digs.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'm headed to the parade tomorrow morning ... can't wait!!
Your team played better than my team and I'm not a sore loser. We had a great showing this year and got ourselves some November baseball. Can't complain about that.
Phillies 2010!
