New Bon Jovi album: 'Out of pain comes great songs'

Bon Jovi

The new Bon Jovi album, the first one without longtime guitarist Richie Sambora, will be released in September, said Jon Bon Jovi during a solo show Sunday, April 30 in Austin, Texas.See you in September.

"The record is done. The record is just being mixed now. I’m ecstatic with it if for nothing else, out of pain comes great songs. And I’m really, really happy with the record," said Bon Jovi, according to a YouTube video posting of the event. "I think we’ve got a fantastic representation of who we are at this time."

The September release is a new date for the album, “This House Is Not for Sale,” which was originally slated for March, according to statements by band members at a press conference in Malaysia last year. Bon Jovi's reps declined to provide further details pending official announcements.

Sambora, the co-writer of Bon Jovi hits "Livin' on a Prayer," "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Bad Medicine," "Lay Your Hands on Me," "It's My Life" and more, exited the band on 2013. Also, the band Bon Jovi departed Island Records last year after a 32-year run on the label.

"Burning Bridges," released in August, largely featured pre-recorded songs and had a track that was co-written by Sambora. As for a tour, look for the band in February, Bon Jovi said.

"The hope is that we go out early next year. That’s the hope," Bon Jovi said. "February-ish right now. Don’t hold me to it. I don’t want to read on the internet ‘Jon said February.’ I think it just depends on everyone’s health and well-being at that time."

The band, including Jersey Shore guitarist Matt O'Ree, toured Asia and the Middle East last year.

"I’m really proud of it," said Bon Jovi of the new album. "It’s all about our integrity.”
